The procedure involves the use of an endoscope, which is a type of surgical instrument, a long, narrow, lighted tube used to facilitate the insertion of breast implants through the belly button. Transumbilical breast augmentation is performed as an outpatient procedure, under sedation.

A small incision is made on the belly button. Through the incision, the breast implantsare inserted. A  small scar is hidden inside the belly button, leaving very little evidence of surgery. Benefits of this new procedure include · faster recovery, very little tissue trauma, less risk of injury to the sensory nerves of the nipple and breast, and shorter operative time (as little as 30 minutes compared with 1.5 to 2 hours for the standard technique.

Breast Augmentation
